BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University will be hosting a basketball triple-header in the Sabbagh Athletic Center this Saturday, January 30th. The entire day has been designated Coaches vs. Cancer Day and gate proceeds for all three games will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
The action tips off at 1p.m. when the Webber’s men’s JV team entertains the Tampa Swish. At 4p.m., Miami Southwest High School will tip off against Miami Killian High School in a battle of top high school teams in Florida. The evening ends with a 7p.m. match up with the Webber Warriors and Embry-Riddle University.
The cost for admissions is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students and senior citizens. One ticket is good for the entire day. A donation jar will be at the gate entrance for those that would like to give more. “We hope to have a great turn-out for the games and raise a lot of money for the American Cancer Society,” stated Athletic Director Bill Heath. “And after the games, I hope all the fans go to Chili’s in Lake Wales and support the Webber Athletic Program,” added Heath.
