BABSON PARK, Fla. - The Webber International University men's basketball game improved their record Friday night (January 22) as they defeated conference opponent Johnson & Wales University 70-65 at the Sabbagh Athletic Center.  This brings the Warriors an 11-6 overall record and a 6-1 The Sun Conference record.

The Warriors were in control for most of the first half, letting the Wildcats (4-14, TSC 2-5) having the lead three times in the half.  Junior Geidi had an outstanding first half, going perfect in field goals (5-5) as well as the three-point line (4-4) while capturing 14 points total.

The second half of the game was quite a nail biter for the Warriors, as it was a back-and-forth battle for the lead for the last 10 minutes of the game.  The Wildcats came into the half ready to dominate, but with key shots made by Halston Schaffer and Mike Bonilla, along with great defense by WIU, the Warriors took away the win, 70-65.

Geidi led the Warriors for the night collecting 19 points.  Schaffer had 13 points with seven rebounds, Mark Marlar had 12 points, and Tyler Hoevenaar led the team with six assists.  The Warriors will be in action tomorrow as they travel to Temple Terrace to take on Florida College at 7:00 pm.
